Latin Percussion and Chad Smith Release Signature Cowbell

The Red Hot Chili Pepper and LP join forces

As a member of the pioneering, rock group Red Hot Chili Peppers since 1998, Chad Smith is widely regarded as one of music’s most accomplished drummers. Chad has recorded seven studio albums with the Chili Peppers and appears on a total twenty-two releases with the band and has played the drums for a diverse set of artists including Johnny Cash, George Clinton and much more. Teaming up with Latin Percussion (LP) who have announced the release of a new line of cowbells immortalised with Chad Smith’s name.

The release of Red Hot Chili Peppers’ drummer Chad Smith’s signature Rock Ridge Rider: the “Red Hot Bell,” is a monochromatic red bell stamped with Smith’s signature. This 8-inch bell is made in the US, crafted from heavy-gauge steel, and welded by hand to produce LP’s legendary tone.

Also of note is a patented high-impact plastic striking surface at the mouth of the bell that saves drumsticks while adding projection and volume.  Welded to the rear of the bell is a Vice-Clamp Mount v-clamp mount that allows it to fit most popular rod diameters, from 9.5mm to a half-inch while maintaining the strongest hold possible for today’s rock drummers.

“I’ve got a fever and the only the only prescription is more Red Hot cowbell,” Smith says. Smith is playing the Red Hot Bell on the current Red Hot Chili Peppers world tour, The Getaway.
