Ibanez 2026 Release
Ibanez enters 2026 with two bold new ranges designed for players who demand innovation: the Alpha Series for extended-range guitars and the Mode Series for bassists seeking versatility and style. Both lines combine cutting-edge engineering with ergonomic design, delivering instruments that feel as good as they sound.
Alpha Series: Built for Modern Metal
The Alpha Series marks a new chapter for Ibanez, created specifically for the modern metal guitarist. Available in two models—the A527 (7-string) and A528 (8-string)—these guitars are forged for speed, precision, and tonal flexibility.
At the core of the Alpha’s sound are Fishman® Fluence™ Modern Humbuckers (Alnico neck, Ceramic bridge), offering aggressive, noise-free tones with a Voicing switch that flips between high-output modern crunch and fluid, articulate cleans. Combined with an American Basswood body, these pickups deliver clarity across extended ranges.
Playability is paramount. The Parallel Wizard AS 5-piece Maple/Walnut neck features an asymmetric profile for effortless technique, paired with an Ebony fretboard and jumbo stainless steel frets for smooth, fast action. Ergonomic touches like the Elbow contour, rear body sculpting, and flat lower edge enhance comfort whether standing or seated. Hardware includes Gotoh® MG-T locking tuners for rock-solid stability and the Mono-rail G2 bridge for precise string isolation. Luminescent side dots and a rear-mounted output jack round out a design built for stage performance.
Each Alpha comes with a custom Ibanez gig bag.
Mode Series: Vintage Soul, Modern Muscle
For bassists, the new Mode Series blends classic tone woods with advanced electronics across three ranges:
- Mode 1000: Alder bodies with rosewood fingerboards for warm, traditional tones.
- Mode 1300: Ash bodies and roasted maple fingerboards for snappy attack and clarity.
- Mode 1600: Poplar Burl tops over Alder with rosewood fingerboards, finished in bold, modern colours.
All Mode models share premium features: a roasted maple neck for stability, medium stainless-steel frets, and Delta SJ pickups delivering crisp highs, punchy mids, and tight lows. The Ibanez Sonitech S Preamp offers a 3-band EQ, passive tone control, and the Hexa Mid system with six selectable mid frequencies. An EQ bypass switch adds instant flexibility.
Hardware includes Aero-light machine heads for perfect balance, the MR5S bridge with adjustable string spacing, and luminescent side dots for dark stages. The Super All Access Neck Joint ensures smooth upper-fret access, and every bass ships with a custom gig bag.
A New Standard for 2026
With the Alpha Series and Mode Series, Ibanez pushes beyond tradition, delivering instruments that meet the demands of today’s players—whether you’re exploring extended-range metal riffs or crafting dynamic bass lines with precision and style.
