Case Study: K-array Audio at St Patrick’s College, Launceston

Great aesthetics and performance are key to this installation.

St Patrick’s College has added a purpose-built STEM facility centred around a flexible presentation and performance space—designed to deliver intelligible, high‑impact audio without compromising architectural aesthetics. Working with Round Table Studio, the brief called for a low‑profile, wall‑mounted system capable of even coverage, high output and simple user control in a multi‑use educational environment.

The solution is built around K-array Python series loudspeakers with Rumble subwoofers, delivering controlled directivity, clarity and power from an ultra-slim form factor. A combination of KP1021 and KP521 arrays provides precise audience coverage, supported by Rumble subs discreetly wall-mounted for extended low-frequency performance. Driven by K-array Kommander amplification and integrated with matrix processing and Dante connectivity, the system supports everything from assemblies and presentations to live student performances—while remaining easy for staff to operate.
