Case Study: High Court of Australia
Upgrading the High Court of Australia’s AV infrastructure wasn’t just a refresh—it was a complex integration of modern networked AV into a heritage-listed building. Intravision delivered a full AV-over-IP solution across three operational courtrooms, including fibre backbone upgrades, over 200 Cat6a outlets, and multicast-ready network architecture.
The audio challenge was particularly demanding. Court One’s iconic voice-lift system, originally designed by Glenn Leembruggen, required discreet yet powerful replacements. K-Array KZ12 ultra-compact line array speakers were custom-coloured to match brass handrails in the upper gallery, with cabling concealed inside brass covers and timber trims. Terminations were soldered in confined spaces to maintain architectural integrity. For amplification, K-Array KA14 PoE amplifiers were integrated into judges’ bench joinery, driving new speaker drivers in the Associates’ area for precise coverage without feedback.
This upgrade also included advanced camera arrays for videoconferencing and a centralised control platform for real-time monitoring, but the standout achievement was delivering premium audio performance without compromising aesthetics—thanks to K-Array’s form factor and flexibility.
